Well, we left Cannes for Nice this morning. Got up at 6:00am and got to the airport around 7:30am. Our flight wasn't until 11:30am, but my aunt and grandma were leaving at 9:45am, so we all went together. Had a cafe latte and got some breakfast and began to board our plane by that time.
We were actually going to be departing early, until this woman wouldn't sit in her seat. She had other family on the plane and there weren't enough seats, but she wouldn't sit where the empty seat was. I don't know what the entire deal was. Maybe she wanted to sit by her family and the seat was taken. I don't know, but what I do know is that it was making me mad. Our flight through JFK was cutting it close enough, and any extra time we could get, we would take. So finally she sat down, along with everyone else who refused to follow instructions about staying in their seats, but instead of leaving early, we left on time/a little later than supposed to. They announced that we would be watching Spiderman 3 and Shrek 3!! Yay! But apparently they forgot to switch out the movies, so we watched "Premonition" which is an interesting movie, but very hard to understand until about the halfway point. They could have played 2 more movies, but instead they decided to play these weird TV shows. lol We ate a lot of food on that plane though!
Lunch:
Salad
Pesto Roasted breast of chicken or Penne Pasta
bread with butter
cheese and crackers
oat crunch cookie
Midflight:
Mini Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream
Afternoon refreshment:
4 cheese pizza
shortbread cookie
( JFK....... )

Ok, Apple's new line of iPod's are AWESOME!! I dread it when it happens because I know that I want everything, but I have to say that Steve Jobs is a genius! :)
The new colors in the Shuffle are great.

The redesigned Nano is so cute!!

iPod Classic....UP TO 160GB OF STORAGE!!! AHHHH!!! And it comes in silver!

They slashed the iPhone by $200! I really want one, but won't switch carriers. But the fact that you can buy songs from iTunes and use them as ringtones is great!

iPod Touch is awesome!! Looks just like the iPhone and I love the touch screen effect! Only con is that it only comes in 8GB or 16GB. You can't hold too many videos on there, but I am sure that in due time they will come out with ones that can hold more.

AND.......Wifi on your iPod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooo Hoooooooo!!

Well, these are my last days in Cannes. Nothing too exciting.
Day 13
Today we were going to go to Provence, France, but my sister didn't feel well, so we switched days because we were going to go shopping in Cannes tomorrow, but went today so that we didn't waste a day. So we went shopping for a little bit and then went back to the hotel. My sister was feeling better, so we went to eat at the Lebanese restaurant. Mmmmmmm!! I had chicken kebabs with rice and hummus. Yummy! I could eat Lebanese food 7 days a week. lol We sampled some of their desserts too. Not bad, definitely different, but it's not something I would eat again. I'll stick to the main course. LOL
( More shopping..... )

Day 11
Ahh, we got to sleep in today. lol We slept until 10am. My sister, grandma, aunt, and I went to the beach down the street from our hotel. The water was SO COLD!! Now, I like cold water when I swim (none of that bath water warm stuff), but it was quite cold. lol And it had sparkles in it. It almost looked like gold flakes. lol So once we got acquainted with the water, we sat and dug for seashells, whatever ones we could find. They don't really have seashells there like they do in the states. Strange. Oh and we saw 2 topless women (one older, one younger and wearing a thong.) LOL We were at the beach for what felt like 30 minutes, but was probably an hour and a half and man I paid for it! My back/shoulders were SO burnt! LOL We had brought suntan lotion with, but just put our stuff down and headed for the water. After we left the beach, we swam in the hotel pool for a short while and then went out for dinner. I saw my aunt whisper something to the waiter and so when it came time for dessert, I wanted creme brulee and they brought it out with 2 candles on it. :) It was cute and OMG so good!!! Oh was it good! We went back to our hotel and visited with my aunt because she was leaving to go back to Afghanistan the next day, so we were telling stories and laughing. Having a good time.
My aunt has the pictures from the beach, so I will post some of those when she sends them. But here are a few when we were on our way back to Cannes from Italy the day before.

( Nothing too interesting, but you know you want to read anyways... )

Day 9/10
Got to Torino at night as we usually did in the other cities. lol It was very beautiful at night. (Sorry Liz, night shots in the car didn't work. But I do have some bad ones for you. lol) We stayed at one of the hotels that was built specifically for the '06 Olympics! It was definitely not your typical Italian hotel. It was very modern and beautiful. They had HUGE maybe 52" plasma TV's on the wall in the rooms! They had internet (not wireless), so I plugged in the LAN cable and it got stuck! It wouldn't come out. lol I didn't use force, it just got stuck. lol So I decided just to try and use the internet since it was plugged in, but when I did, it didn't work. (Darn Firefox. Should have just tried Internet Explorer instead because that worked in Cannes.) Arg! So I gave up and went to bed. lol

Day 8
Well, we have been in Europe from almost a week and have been to Cannes, Paris, Monaco, Rome, Viareggio, and now Pisa, and all the cities and historical stuff in between. lol It really has been an Amazing Race! lol
We went from Viareggio to Pisa, which like I said is only 20 miles or so, but we ended up taking a wrong turn. lol I call today "Wrong Turn Day." (You'll see) We got to Pisa and the tower is amazing! It's funny to see it leaning when you are trying to take a picture and wondering if you are crooked. lol It makes for an interesting picture. lol My sister and I were going to go up to the top, but you need tickets. No problem. So we are standing in line and I read that the next visit was in 3 hours! I asked the people in front of us (Americans! Yes! lol) and they said yes, in 3 hours. Arg!! I guess you have to go in groups. So we decided to take a buggy/carriage ride around the area instead.

Day 6
Well, we drove about 10 hours to Rome today. Oy! What a drive. First, car trips are not for me, especially long ones. I have never traveled that long in a car before. lol We stopped at the first Auto-Grill (fancy truck stops with buffets, food, DVD's, CD's...) to get some food. We stopped at several Auto-Grills to stretch, eat, use the bathrooms (oh how fun it was to use the different bathrooms. lol Again, the toilets are a hoot!) The car ride was quite fun however. We were laughing, especially when my aunt and I were trying to take pics as we drove by and let's just say, it didn't go so well at times. lol
I did manage to get some shots:

( Cut for the rest and sizzling Rome.... )

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill Buchanan returns!! :) Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! ♥
We went from this:
"At present, it looks as though I will not be back for season seven, since the show is moving in new directions."
To this:
"Update August 8: I'm going to back to the show after all. And I'm very happy about it. I'll let you know more when I can."

Now if we can get confirmation that Jayne Atkinson will be back as well, I will be one happy Bill/Karen shipper! :)

We decided to go to Monaco on Sunday. It was very beautiful and rich-looking! We went to the casino in Monte Carlo and I gambled with my grandma. lol We played $100€ and got 1,000 credits in the slot machines. So we are playing and not winning and then all of a sudden, I push one of the buttons to bet and win 1,050 credits and $69.20€. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So of course, we cashed out. lol We had some lunch before and again, European toilets are a story of their own. First of all, in restaurants, almost all of the bathrooms are downstairs. But the toilet was so funny at this restaurant. IT WAS SELF CLEANING!! LMAO! After you flush, it turns the seat and cleans it. LOL

Day 2 in Paris (the temps in Paris were beautiful. Probably the best weather of the entire trip.)
We got to sleep in...a little, but if we wanted to eat breakfast before we got going to the Eiffel Tower, we needed to get up at 7:00am.
We went down to eat breakfast in our hotel. They had some weird eggs. lol They were pasty and my aunt said she thinks they are eggs in a bag. lol She said that AFTER I ate them, but WTH, I needed protein and they weren't going to kill me. lol They also had fruit, yogurt, cereal, sausage, croissants (mmmmm...), coffee, OJ, poached eggs, swiss cheese, and ham. So we sat down and sat in the area for groups because there were 6 of us. Well, then the lady who told us to sit there, came over and said that we are not a group. WTH?
There were others with the same amount of people sitting there too. She said our buffet was over there (to the left of us, in another section), so we just opted to stay where we were. My sister however decided to scope out that buffet and man, they had more stuff! LOL They had toast, croissants with chocolate, little nutella packages (we grabbed a handful of those to take with. LOL), different selection of fruit, bacon, salami, and a variety of cereal. So we took from there too. lol I got a croissant with chocolate and then put some nutella on part of my croissant(best combination, besides in a crepe.). Yummy!
After breakfast we went out to meet our taxi drivers and saw George, our new English speaking tour guide (the friend of the other taxi driver we liked). Oh man, he was fun! He was telling us all about the buildings, the history, and he drives fast! In this littlecrampedstreets.lol He is Romanian, French, lived in Canada, so also French-Canadian. lol The weather could not have been more beautiful for sight-seeing!
(Hopefully no one has any problems viewing the pictures. If so let me know.)
( MEGA LOAD of pictures! I hope you have Road Runner...Beep Beep! )

We got up at 6:00am and caught the bullet train at 7:30am to Paris. Oh, what a long ride! It took us about 5 and a 1/2 hours to get to Paris. I slept for about an hour and a half, uncomfortably at that. lol We got to Paris and walked around the corner from the train station to our hotel and checked in. Caught a taxi and went to get something to eat.
This was just too funny. When we were waiting for a taxi, they had one of these on the sidewalk. Sure it's like a porter potty, but funnier. LOL

SMART CAR!!! These cars are everywhere and SO CUTE! :)
